NeoBS Art
– A new and improved rendering of old ideas trying to pose as a unique, better, classier type of art.
Michael K. Stark is an American artist who was active in the LA art scene in the 1990’s. It was during that period, he invented “NeoBS Art” to describe his own style of art. Michael’s work was featured in 35 exhibitions, 13 of which were solo shows, and 1 which lasted for 11 years at the Lunaria Jazz Bar in West LA. His early work focused on deconstructivism framing, abstracted themes, and money. He then ceased creating art for 25 years because he had nothing more to say, and had to make a living.
In late 2021, with the encouragement from family and friends, Michael decided to re-embark on his artistic journey. Without knowing where to start, he instinctively sketched the $100 bill, which lead him to creating over 300 designs. Also, during Michael’s second act as an artist, he created two other series featuring lottery tickets and flags. Michael’s new body of work, along with his older pieces, debuted in Las Vegas in 2022 and became known as the Wall of $100’s. Michael’s choice to exhibit the Wall of $100’s in Las Vegas was intentional, since he believes that Las Vegas is the world capital for what can be done with money.
In 2026, an abstract film featuring, and inspired by the Wall of $100’s premiered in Las Vegas. The short film, “NeoBS Art” was written and directed by filmmaker Cody Dades and produced by Gaia Speaks. Additional future screenings are planned, and the film has been submitted to some film festivals.
The theme of Michael’s artwork is about understanding our evolving relationship with money, luck, and the American Dream – and how to better manifest it. Michael’s greatest lesson from the Wall of $100’s is that you can never be too old, too late, too lost, or too ridiculous to start all over again to try to make your dreams come true.
As of March, 2026:
24 Vegas venues are exhibiting the Wall of $100’s.
