Michael K. Stark is an American artist who was active in the LA art scene in the 1990’s. During that period, his work was featured in 35 exhibitions, 13 of which were solo shows, and 1 which lasted for 11 years at the Lunaria Jazz Bar in West LA. He then ceased creating art for 25 years because he had nothing more to say, and had to make a living.
In late 2021, with the encouragement from family and friends, Michael decided to re-embark on his artistic journey. Without knowing where to start, he sketched the $100 bill, which lead him to creating over 300 pieces for the “Wall of $100’s.” He also created two other series featuring lottery tickets and flags. Michael’s decision to debut his new work in Las Vegas was intentional, since he believes that Las Vegas is the world capital for what can be done with money.
As of Spring 2025, 21 venues in Las Vegas have exhibited the Wall of $100’s. Currently, 13 venues in Vegas are still exhibiting the Wall of $100’s.
The theme woven throughout all of Michael’s artwork is about understanding our evolving relationship with money, luck, and the American Dream – and how to better manifest it.
